Through animal sheltering and adoptions, low cost veterinary services, and humane education, we strive to create a more humane and responsible community by eliminating animal suffering while increasing human compassion.
The Humane Education Program is one facet of the VBSPCA Development Team and provides the youth of the Hampton Roads community with the resources to become a compassionate animal advocate.
Through educational experiences and opportunities, both virtually and in-person, the Humane Education Program is a critical resource for promoting compassion, empathy, and respect to our younger generation.
As the Humane Education Coordinator, your role is to support and maintain the several Humane Education initiatives the VBSPCA promotes throughout the year.
Each initiative centers around cultivating empathy in children by teaching them to understand and respect the feelings of others.
Through various avenues, including online activities; in-person tours and activities; educational programs; and in-school experiences, you will connect with the next generation of animal advocates.

This is a part-time position with up to 20 hours a week.
There may be potential for additional hours during times of increased departmental needs.
This position will have the ability to work with a flexible schedule, that is approved by the Chief Advancement Officer, in conjunction with the workload and deadlines of departmental needs.
Pay Rate:
$18/hr.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
