Join us in doing purposeful, sustainable work that helps shape our communities and the future! Your Impact Provide engineering services and task management and perform professional civil engineering design on roadway and site projects for multiple clients including VDOT, local municipalities, U.
S.
Army Corps of Engineers, NAVFAC, etc.
Lead for analysis, plans production and other technical activities for assigned projects.
Develop design criteria and applying to projects.
Guide design teams to achieve overall project objectives.
Preparing plans, specifications, and bid packages and ensuring that production of specifications, reports and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements.
Prepare technical reports and presentations that explain research, findings, and recommendations to improve or address design and/or construction issues or opportunities.
Developing 3D models using industry standard engineering software which includes, but is not limited to, Geopak, Civil3d, OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation.
Calculating costs and quantities of material/equipment/labor, and ensuring project work conforms with specifications, permit applications, compliance documentation, and regulatory and technical analysis memos.
Assist in the analysis, evaluation, and interpretation of data obtained during field investigations, offering input with developing action plans for moderate- to high-level risk mitigation activities.
Comply with regulatory requirements pertaining to the data integrity, documentation, procedures, training, monitoring systems, and record compliance and retention.
Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients in a confident and professional manner.
Remain current in latest civil engineering techniques and practices.
Work collaboratively with other engineers, architects, and planners on projects with infrastructure authorities on Federal, State, regional, and locally funded improvement and development projects.
Attend and participate in project team meetings.
Interface with clients as needed and support business development initiatives.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
3 to 5 years of relevant post education experience in engineering discipline and prior design experience.
Knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues.
Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management; including rehabilitation and new design.
Ability to coordinate with agency regulators and understand requirements.
Working knowledge of relevant civil construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
Capable interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
Effective self-leadership with attention to detail, results orientation, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instruction, work independently, and comply with company policies.
Moderate proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, math principles, predictive models, spreadsheets, and tools.
Experience with discipline-specific design software (i.
e.
, MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, InRoads, Geopak, OpenRoads Designer, GeoSlope).
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply technical knowledge to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, statistical analysis and arriving at the most effective, economical, and logical solution.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification.
PE licensure in Virginia or ability to obtain within 12 months Affiliation with local or national engineering organizations Working knowledge of stormwater and utility design principles, practices, and processes.
Must successfully complete and pass WSP's Motor Vehicle screening.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
