This role involves a variety of tasks related to oyster and clam cultivation, husbandry methods, and the maintenance of farm equipment.
Ideal candidates will have experience in supervising farm activities and a strong understanding about the water and its environment Responsibilities Supervise daily farm operations and assist in coordinating tasks among team members.
Manage oyster activities including planting, line shifting, seed handling, and harvesting crops.
Provide care for shellfish, ensuring their health and well-being through proper culture methods and maintenance practices.
Operate and maintain various types of farm machinery and power tools safely and efficiently.
Utilize hand tools for planting, cultivating, and maintaining farm areas.
Monitor shellfish growth and health, reporting any issues to management promptly.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas to promote a safe working environment.
Requirements Previous experience in farm work or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
Knowledge about boat safety and handling but not required Ability to operate farm machinery and power tools safely.
Strong communication skills with the ability to supervise others effectively.
Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks in various weather conditions.
A commitment to maintaining high standards of quality in all farming activities.
