We are seeking an expert buyer to play a vital role in coordinating the procurement of multiple complex commodities such as capital equipment, MRO service goods, and office supplies!! You will work with our supply base, as well as source new suppliers, to manage commercial supplier relationships as well as drive opportunities, remove waste from the supply chain and lower cost.

Position
Responsibilities:
Is able to track to and achieve annual cost reduction goals
Coordinates the procurement of multiple complex commodities such as:
Capital equipment, MRO service goods, and office supplies, etc
Reviews and analyzes procurement requirements. Locates and develops suppliers in accordance with ISO procedures and corporate directives.
Identifies areas of supply chain improvement and/or cost reduction.
Researches and develops suppliers
Prepares RFQ's or other informational requests that contain material specification and supplier operational data.
Analyzes proposals, suppliers' financial stability and manufacturing capabilities in order to make the best sourcing decisions for the STIHL Group.
Tracking of supplier costs and ensuring adherence to contract pricing and conditions
Maintains and develops positive relations with suppliers, through communications of STIHL philosophy, material requirements, and pricing objectives.
Works with suppliers and internal stakeholders to define value improvement, supply chain optimization, and sourcing strategies
Ensures consistency in the supply chain by ensuring timely delivery of quality products and
services
Contacts suppliers regarding material problems and supports resolution.
Visits supplier locations as required to, evaluates operations and facilitate supplier quality audits as needed.
Works with the STIHL Purchasing Group worldwide by sharing pertinent data and cost analyses as required, in order to establish optimal global supply chain management strategies.
Required:
Bachelor's degree in related discipline is required (Business or Finance is preferred)
Minimum of 4 years' experience with Purchasing including high-level negotiations, writing contracts, and leading sourcing teams and projects
Is highly motivated and has a take charge attitude
Excellent communication and negotiation skills are crucial
Must have strong analytical skills
Experience with MRO and indirect material commodities are strongly preferred.
Preferred:
Masters degree.
Knowledge of Strategic Sourcing processes (e.g. A.T. Kearney).
